Greater Pottstown Tennis, in partnership with Special Olympics Pennsylvania and USTA Middle States, held the second USTA Special Olympics Pennsylvania Tournament at the Hill School on October 11, 2015. Twenty-six athletes from four counties (Montgomery, Chester, Lebanon and York) competed in three divisions (red ball, green dot ball and yellow ball). Following the tournament, a Free Play Day was held for all adaptive tennis players.
If you have any questions about our USTA registered Adaptive tennis program, please email Kerriann Herdelin, Executive Director, at firstname.lastname@example.org . Kerriann has a Master's degree in Special Education and ensures the Adaptive Tennis Clinics will be successful for each player.
The Adaptive program is sponsored by a grant from the Pottstown Area Health and Wellness Foundation.
Tennis is for ANYONE and EVERYONE!
The game of tennis can be adapted to accommodate any age, environment, condition or disability. The charge of USTA Adaptive Tennis is to promote and develop recreational tennis opportunities for individuals with varying abilities and circumstances through inclusion, knowledge and support. The USTA continues to support programming for individuals with physical, developmental and situational challenges.
